1. Subscription Overview
Legal Sparrow offers subscription-based access to its platform on monthly and annual billing cycles. Subscriptions are charged in advance for the applicable billing period and renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.
By subscribing, you authorise Legal Sparrow to charge your payment method on a recurring basis according to your selected plan and billing cycle.
2. Cancellation Process
You may cancel your subscription at any time by accessing your account settings and following the cancellation workflow, or by contacting our support team through the Contact page.
Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain full access to the platform until that date — cancellation does not result in immediate termination of service.
We recommend cancelling at least 48 hours before your next renewal date to ensure the cancellation is processed before the next charge is initiated.
3. Refund Eligibility
Monthly subscriptions are generally non-refundable once a billing cycle has commenced. If you believe exceptional circumstances apply, you may submit a refund request within 7 days of the charge by contacting our support team.
Annual subscriptions cancelled within 14 days of the initial purchase date are eligible for a full refund, provided the platform has not been used for substantive work product generation during that period.
After the 14-day window, annual subscribers who cancel may be eligible for a pro-rata refund of unused months at our discretion, calculated as described in Section 4 below.
4. Pro-Rata Calculations
For eligible annual subscription refunds after the initial 14-day window, the refund amount is calculated based on the number of complete calendar months remaining in the subscription term at the time of cancellation.
The refund formula is: Refund = (Monthly Equivalent Rate) × (Full Months Remaining). Partial months are not refunded. A processing deduction of up to 10% may apply to cover payment gateway fees and administrative costs.
For example, if your annual plan costs $1,200 (equivalent to $100/month) and you cancel with 5 full months remaining, your eligible refund would be up to $500 less any applicable processing deduction.
5. Non-Refundable Items
The following are not eligible for refund under any circumstances:
- Setup fees, onboarding fees, or professional services fees, if applicable to your plan.
- Add-on features, usage-based charges, or API credits consumed prior to cancellation.
- Subscriptions cancelled after the applicable refund window has elapsed.
- Accounts suspended or terminated due to violations of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.
- Trial periods converted to paid plans where trial terms explicitly stated no refund applies.
6. Failed Payments and Subscription Pausing
If a scheduled payment fails, Legal Sparrow will attempt to retry the charge on subsequent days. We will notify you by email if payment cannot be collected. Continued failure may result in temporary suspension of platform access until payment is resolved.
We do not currently offer a formal subscription pause feature. If you need temporary relief, please contact our support team to discuss your situation — we will work with you in good faith where possible.
7. Billing Disputes
If you believe a charge was made in error, please contact our support team within 30 days of the disputed transaction. Provide your account details, the charge amount, the date of the charge, and a brief description of the issue.
We will review all disputes within 5 business days and respond with a resolution or request for additional information. We encourage direct resolution before initiating a chargeback through your payment provider, as chargebacks may result in immediate account suspension pending investigation.
8. Enterprise and Custom Plans
Refund and cancellation terms for enterprise accounts, multi-seat agreements, and custom contracts are governed by the terms set out in the applicable order form or master service agreement signed between the parties.
In the absence of such a document, the terms of this policy apply. For enterprise billing inquiries, contact your designated account manager or our enterprise support team.
9. Contact for Refund Requests
All refund and cancellation requests should be directed to our support team through the Contact page on the Legal Sparrow website. Please include your registered email address, subscription plan details, and reason for the request to ensure prompt handling.
We aim to process all refund requests within 7 business days of receiving complete information. Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method and may take 5–10 business days to appear depending on your bank or card issuer.
10. Policy Updates
Legal Sparrow reserves the right to modify this Refund and Cancellation Policy at any time. Changes will be communicated via the platform and take effect upon publication unless a later effective date is specified.
Refund requests are processed under the policy in effect at the time the original payment was made, not the date of the request.
